The 10-hour program is intended to provide instruction on a variety of general industry safety and health standards to entry level participants.

Of the topics listed, four hours are mandatory and three hours must be chosen from the options provided.

The required topics account for 7 hours of the 10 hour program. For the remainder of the 10-hour class, you may choose any other general industry standards and policies and/or expand on the required topic coverage.

Subpart J - Permit Required Confined Spaces

Subpart N - Materials Handling

Subpart O - Machinery and Machine Guarding

Subpart Q - Welding, Cutting and Brazing

Subpart Z - Hazard Communication

29 CFR 1904 - Injury and Illness Recordkeeping


All of the required topics listed must be presented in the 30-hour outreach course unless any of them do not apply to a particular audience. In this case, other applicable OSHA standards may be substituted.

The required topics account for 23 hours of the 30 hour program. To fulfill the 30-hour training requirement, the trainer is expected to utilize the remaining class time by teach other general industry standards and/or by expanding upon the coverage of the required topics. Any OSHA standard that applies to general industry may be taught if it meets the needs of your company.

Attendees completing the full 30 hours of training will also receive the OSHA 30-Hour Card. Attendees will also receive a copy of the General Industry Standards.

Each participant will receive a card of completion from the U.S. Department of Labor.
