Officer Bob Gentry Safety Town Park located at 105 Williams Ave. Hamilton, OH.

Safety Town is a fun and interactive way for potty trained four to five year old children to experience safety lessons in a way that is engaging and enjoyable!  This program is offered free to the public. We offer over 250 spots a year, first come first serve.

This summer "SAFETY TOWN" will mark its 53rd season as an asset to the City of Hamilton and the Butler County area.  Your child will be instructed in pedestrian, vehicle, school bus, stranger dangers, gun safety, and fire safety.  We also offer a Bicycle Rodeo course for six to eight year olds.

The weekly classes for the four and five year olds are Monday thru Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The sessions include classroom instruction and driving Kettcars in a simulated village at Safety Town.  On Wednesday the children will learn how to occupy seats while on a school bus. The Fire Department will teach fire safety and bring a smoke house and teach the children how to get out of a burning building. We finish with a Graduation Ceremony on Friday. We encourage all parents to attend the ceremony.

The weekly classes for the six and eight year olds are Monday thru Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The sessions include classroom lessons as well and bike safety.  Children should bring a bicycle and helmet on the date designated by the leader.

There are only 36 openings for each session for the 4-5 year old and 20 openings for the 6-8 year olds.

This year, Safety Town is offering a special week designed specifically for children with developmental disabilities! While Safety Town is inclusive of all children and welcomes those of all abilities throughout the summer, the week of July 28th is a week tailored for children who may benefit from a more focused experience. The program will cover the same content but will include a sensory-friendly environment, breaks throughout the morning and smaller class size.  A caregiver/parent will be required to attend. The weekly classes are Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Rain or Shine Safety Town is in session. If it is raining your child will go to Miami University, Hamilton Campus.

Safety Town is sponsored by the Greater Hamilton Safety Council and funded by the Kiwanis Lindenwald, Hamilton and Fairfield, Officer Bob Gentry Memorial Fund, City of Hamilton, Butler County Commissioners, thyssenkrupp-BILSTEIN and BC Board of DD.  There will be NO REGISTRATION FEE BUT DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED AND APPRECIATED (please see link below or visit our office).
